This is a low result for a tailored garment. For comparison, a conventionally produced blazer made of virgin wool often generates between 20 and 30 kg CO_2e — meaning our choice of materials and production location reduces emissions by up to 90%.

How we calculated the figure:

The calculation covers the entire chain from fiber production to the finished garment (Cradle-to-Gate). 

• Materials (80% recycled wool, 20% recycled polyamide): By using recycled wool, we avoid the significant methane emissions and land use required for virgin wool production.

• Lining (Viscose): A soft lining made from cellulose fibers.

• Local Production (Malmö, Sweden): By sewing the blazer in Sweden, we benefit from the Swedish, nearly fossil-free electricity mix. This drastically lowers emissions from the sewing phase compared to production in countries with coal-based electricity.

• Short Transport Routes: The fabric is transported by truck from Italy directly to our production site in Malmö, minimizing the transport footprint.

Sources and Methodology

Our calculations are based on average emission factors (secondary data) from established life cycle assessment (LCA) databases, including Higg MSI, RISE (Mistra Future Fashion), and Ecoinvent. The calculation also includes fabric waste during cutting, as well as emissions for buttons and thread.
